Can fever be a symptom of kidney complication other than kidney infection? Possible sign of kidney disease?

There is an argument right now between the kidney doctor and immunologist as to my son’s diagnosis…just looking for any helpful answers or experiences. He has symptoms of both kidney complications (protein in urine) and immune disorder (recurrent fevers with no other symptoms)
THANKS!

Malfunction of the kidney can cause the blood to have toxins and cause headaches and fever. I had it once, it was almost like the flu because it is like being poisoned.
