How long does a kidney infection have to be present to be fatal?

Yulishea asked:

How long can you have a kidney infection before it starts to kill you?
I do have flank pain I believe. It’s an extremely sharp pain right in my waist area on the right side. I also have the UTI symptoms (burning, cloudy urine) but it’s also 2:17 in the morning and I don’t feel like going to the ER if it’s something that can wait until morning.
I just have a very extreme anxiety problem and I want to sleep comfortably tonight without worrying I’m not going to wake up.

The antibiotics as if the workload can be handled by the kidneys is reversible or not only by the concept of the infection it self but from the question if you think you gonna wait until the location and will.
