My uncle has said he has stage 4 kidney disease, it is true to limit your protein intake?

I read online that you should limit your protein intake because your kidney filter protein but since your kidneys are not working properly now, it’s best to limit the amount you eat. Therefore, you should not eat any meat products and become a vegetarian. Is that true? What should a person with this disease eat?

He should become a vegetarian and get his proteins from nuts, beans, walnuts, etc. (no meat period). With stage 4 kidney, by eating animal proteins, his body digests them and releases “nitrogen products” or “waste products from protein metabolism” which are poisons that will remain in his body as his kidneys cannot eliminate them anymore.
Other waste poisons will be removed by kidney dialysis so we must lower his waste products as much as possible.
