What pain medications can I use if I have kidney disease?

Kidney Disease
Zigmo asked:

I have IGA Nephropathy. I have had a worsened back problem which I am going to physical therapy for. From what my doctor told me, I am ONLY to take Acetametaphine based medications. My nephrologist has since left for another job. My family doc prescribed naproxin for back pain (which I can not have) she said she will not prescrible an alternative. She called the hospital where my old doctor once was, and they said by my last tests, it would be able to consume anti-inflamatories for a very short time. However, I am only 27, and I do not want to chance damaging my kidneys further. How do I find a doctor that feels the same way, and will prescribe something for pain so I can go back to work? HElp!!!
